The Government of Himachal Pradesh has introduced many women-oriented programmes in Himachal Pradesh. There are approximately twenty women-related schemes initiated by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. However, since it is not possible to study and analyse all the schemes in the present study, the Mother Teresa Asahaya Matri Sambal Yojna was selected. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to helpless women and guardians of orphaned children for their upbringing. An effort has been made in the present article to study and analyse the state of implementation of the Mother Teresa Asahaya Matri Sambal Yojna in Himachal Pradesh and to give suggestion for more effective implementation of this programme.
