The year 2013 had documented milestone in the rich history of United Arab Emirates (UAE)as it marked the hosting of mega-event Expo 2020. Winning of the bid over Yekaterinburg (Russia), Izmir (Turkey) and Sao Paulo (Brazil) had given UAE an opportunity to showcase new inventions, expedite cultural exchange and drive universal branding. UAE government is committed to astonish the world by bringing the life to its vision, by connecting ideas and minds and creating bright future through leveraging the competencies of the safe haven economy. Given its positive impact on trade, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), infrastructural development and employment creation, this mega-eventis looked upon as a way of strengthening the economy and providing an international platform to showcase its prowess. This research paper attempts to assess immediate and long-term impacts of this event, focusing on the sustainability of the expected boost in the various sectors of the Dubai economy.
