A policy is continued, modified or dropped out on the basis of positive or negative results of evaluation. That's why, finding an actual evaluation result is essential. But without having better understanding of evaluation, evaluation types and models of evaluation, an appropriate evaluation cannot be conducted. This article provides an outline for better understanding the evaluation, evaluation types, waves and models of evaluation, especially context input process product model, goal-based model, goal-free model and responsive model of evaluation. This paper also offers a comparative analysis of these four evaluation models. This article would help to gain knowledge about what type of evaluation should be conducted and which model should be applied according to evaluator's needs, purpose and timing in getting actual evaluating results.
