Clotrimazole (CLT) is an antifungal drug that is sold by several companies under different names. It is a synthetic imidazole derivative that is frequently used to treat skin and vaginal infections brought on by dermatophytes and yeasts; it works especially well against Candida species. Patients who don't respond to other antifungal medications like amphotericin B and nystatin can benefit from clotrimazole. Although it works well for skin infections brought on by dermatophytes or Candida, its effectiveness in treating trichomonal vaginitis is negligible. Its development and validation are mainly focused on the accuracy, specificity, precision and robustness of the proposed analytical method for pharmaceutical industry analysis of drug moiety. In pharmaceutical formulations drug discovery, development and evaluation, a technique should be established. Validation of an analytical method is a requirement to demonstrate that the method is suitable and appropriate for the intended use, often a prerequisite for analytical purposes. The present paper provides reviews a range of analytical techniques for determining Clotrimazole and its combinations in pharmaceuticals drug. Additionally, it addresses the validation of clotrimazole and the development of various analytical methods like UV, High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), High-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) and Liquid chromatography- mass spectroscopy (LC-MS) applied to different dosage forms.
