The Samples of essential oil from the aerial parts of Plectranthus incanus, Link (Lamiaceae) growing at Almora District. Uttarakhand, India were obtained by steam distillation and the chemical composition was studied by GC-MS. The fractionation of the oil and GC-MS analysis showed that C10 compounds formed the major part of the oil. 29 peaks were obtained in the mass spectra which constituted about 85% of the oil. The two major components which constitute about 50% of the oil were identified as trans-Rose oxide and (+) 1, 2-Epoxymenthol on the basis of their comparative TLC with authentic sample. Comparison of the present study with earlier reports clearly indicates that the present species is a new Chemotype.
