Effect of Ga₃ and IBA on Growth and Flowering of Tuberose (Polianthes Tuberosa L.) Cv. Double

The study entitled “Effect of GA₃ and IBA on growth and flowering of Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa L.) cv. Double” was carried out in the experimental field of C.C.R. (P.G.) College Muzaffarnagar during the year 2005. The experiment considered 17 treatment of soaking and spraying of GA₃ and IBA respectively. The treatment comprise four levels of GA₃ (40, 80, 120 and 160 ppm) respectively. The results indicate that soaking of tuberose bulbs for 24 hours before planting in 160 ppm GA₃ was found most effective for increasing plant height, width of leaf, length of the longest leaf and number of leaves per plant. On the other hand, spraying of GA₃ 160 ppm, 30 days after planting was found most effective for days to emergence of spike, florets per spike, spike diameter, spike per plant, spike length and rachis length respectively.
