An experiment was conducted on 25 genotypes of soybean revealed significant variations for all the characters under study. Genotypic coefficient of variation was maximum (38.13) for number of pod per plant. The estimates of GCV were high fc number of pods per plant, number of clusters per plant, seed yield per plant height and biological yield per plant. Seed yield showed positive and significant associations with days to 50% flowering (0.417*), number of pods/plant (0.640”), days to maturity (0.645**), plant height (0.609**) and biological yield per plant (0.968**). The biological yield showed highest (0.965) and proteins direct contribution towards seed yield. Hence, maximum weight age should be given to the biological yield per plant during selection programme for yield improvement in soybean.
