A field experiment was conducted at IM. D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj Faizabad, during zaid 2004 to work out the response of types of rhizomes and plant geometry on growth and rhizomes yield of turmeric. Result obtained revealed that out of three types of rhizomes viz. mother, primary and scondaty, the use of mother rhizome responded better and rhizome yield (326-46 q/ha) was obtained. Six spacings (30 x 15 cm, 30 x 20 cm, 30 x 30 cm, 45 x 15, 45 x 20, 45 x 30 cm.) were used out of which the closed spacing (30 x 15 cm) produce a highest yield (335.02 q/ha). The interactive use or mother rhizome along with closest spacing proved to be highest yielder and was obtained (399.67 q/ha).
