A field experiment was conducted during 2002–03 and 2003–04 At A.S college lakhaoti U.P to study the effect, of three bulb size viz, 3.0–4.0cm, 4.0–5.0cm, 5.0–6.0cm with two varieties (Hisar2 and Nasik red) against three spacing (30 x 10cm, 30 x 20cm, and 30 x 30cm) on the growth of onion in the tune of height of plant, no. of shoots/plant diameter of shoot, no. of leaves/plant and days to first umbel formation. Obviously maximum seed yield with superior growth characters was also observed with 5.0–6.0cm bulb size and 30 x 30cm spacing of Hisar-2 cultivar as compared to cultivar Nasik red in both the seasons.
