Effect of insecticides, fungicides and storage containers were tested on germination, seedling length and seed vigour index in green gram cv. K 851 during storage. Seed with 8% moisture and 90% germination were treated with four insecticides (Deltamethrine, Diflubenzeron, Neem oil and mustard oil), two fungicides (Thiram and Vitavax) with three containers (polythene bag, cloth bag and in containers) along with the control (untreated). Seed treated with Deltamethrine and Thiran with polythene bag packing were found effective for maintainig germination (82%), seedling length (19.09 cm), seed vigour index (1569.69) in comparison to untreated having germination (72%, seedling length (16.38cm) and seed vigour index (1191.00) after eight month of storage. Under ambient conditions, Dealthmethrine @ 4 mg/Kg and polythene packing can be recommended for seed treatment of green gram seed.
