Abstract

The role ofwomell at the work place is entirely a different occupationarworld, When women try to function outside of the positions deemed appropriate for them, they confront several problems of acceptance, role conflicts and effective behaviour. Seventy five percent of total respondents between the age group of 31–40 years were found under stress-due to excess of work load at work place and home. percentage of respondents with physical strain in all the age groups were homogeneous. More than fifty percent of the total respondents of degree colleges and doctors occupation groups were found to be engaged in social activities. The women clerks and nurses devote more than 3 hours per day for their cooking activity. The non-significant value of X2 =(S.23S) indicates that percentage of respondents going out for marketing S tiems or less per month in all the occupational groups were statistically homogenous. The non-cooperation from superiors and subordinates were found to be the major reasons for source of stress among women.
