Field experiments was conducted on marigold Tagetes species var. (Pusa narangi) and urd Vigna mungo var. (Pant Urd-31) during 2013–14 and 2014–15 using Ramamoorthy's inductive methodology for the quantification of soil test and crop requirement based integrated fertilizer prescription of primary nutrients for targeted yield of marigold and urd at Norman E. Borlouge Crop Research Centre of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. The results of the experiment indicated that 1.06kg N, 0.34 Kg P and 1.32 kg K were required to produce one quintal of marigold flowers in Mollisols of Pantnagar. The contributions (%) of N, P and K from soil for marigold was 26.23, 54.03 and 42.02. Contribution from fertilizer with FYM for marigold was 98.35, 40.25 and 168.68 Percent contribution of nutrient from fertilizer without FYM for respectively. The fertilizer prescription equations were developed and nomograms were formulated based on the equations for a range of soil test values and desired yield targets of marigold. The results of the experiment indicated that 3.18 kg N, 0.63kg phosphorus and 2.54 kg potassium were required to produce one quintal of Urd grain in Mollisols of Uttarakhand. The contribution of (%) of N, P and K from soil for Urd was 38.15, 72.61 and 36.51. Contribution of nutrient from fertilizer with FYM for urd was 187.65, 15.88 and 96.08. Percent contribution of nutrient from fertilizer without FYM was for Urd was 169.81, 17.19 and 94.98 respectively. The fertilizer prescription equations were developed and nomograms were formulated based on the equations for a range of soil test values and desired yield targets of Urd.
