Abstract

The present investigation was carried out during the year 2016–17 in Bulandshahr district of Western Uttar Pradesh. This paper attempts to find out the constraints faced by brinjal growers in adoption of bio-pesticides and to develop a suitable extension strategy for promotion of bio-pesticides in brinjal production. The study find out that lack of awareness about bio-pesticides was most serious constraints faced by brinjal growers followed by lack of knowledge about time and method of application of bio-pesticides, lack of knowledge about different module of bio-pesticides application in brinjal production, less number of scientific organizations for popularized to bio control methods and gathered information to bio-control, lack of confidence to accept bio-pesticides application practices, poor ICT approaches in government organization, unavailability of required bio-pesticides/bio-agents in government sale centre and local market at proper time, no quick result of bio-pesticides application on effected plant, more risk involved in application of bio-pesticides, high cost and non-availability of labour were reported major bottlenecks in successful adoption of bio-pesticides in brinjal production.
