Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at horticultural research center (HRC), S.V.P.U.A & T Meerut during summer season 2013 and 2014. THe present investigation of was undertaken with 36 diverse genotype of bottle gaurd for evaluating their performance for various horticultural characters. All the hybrids and their parents were grown in a Randomized Block Design with three replications. The Phenotypic coefficient of variance were higher than the genotypic coefficient variance for all the character, It was observed that genotypic and phenotypic coefficient al variations was high for fruit length followed by fruit yield per plant, fruit diameter, number of fruits per plant and vine length. High heritability along with high genetic advance was found for fruit length followed by fruit yield per plant and fruit diameter, medium heritability and medium genetic advance for fruit weight, Hence these character may be improved through selection breeding methods.
