The study was carried out during rabi 2007–08 to 2010–11 at farmer's field of six adopted villages of Dungarpur district. In all 138 Front Line Demonstrations on wheat crop were carried out in an area of 35.0 ha with the active participation of farmers with the objective to demonstrate the latest technology of wheat production and to analyses the yield gap. The results revealed that FLD recorded higher yield as compared to farmers’ practices over the years of study. Improved varieties (Raj. 4037) of wheat resulted in progressively increased grain yield during four years of study, from 28.00 to 30.87 q/ha with a range from 39.00 to 47.37 per cent higher over local check. Recommended packages and practices of wheat gave higher value of yield attributes (No. of effective tillers/m, ear length at harvest (cm), No. of grains per ear (g), grain weight per ear (g) and 1000 grain weight (g)), net returns and B C ratio as compared to local check over the years of study. The study was also revealed that variety found feasible to local situation.
