Abstract

Extent of heterosis for seed quality traits was estimated in 56 F1 hybrids derived from the crosses of 7CMS lines with 8 fertility restorers in sunflower. Among the seed parents CMSH6A and CMS 290A produced promising hybrids. The hybrids CMSH6A X RHA272, CMS290A X RHA265, CMSH6A X RHS265, CMS290A X HRH6A and CHSH6A X RHA 265 were ascertained promising over the standard check (Jawalamukhi) for field emergence and other important seed quality traits.
