Abstract

Twenty genotypes/varietles of maize (Zea mays L.) were analysed ror quality parameters like grain yield, test weight, grain hardiness, protein content, oil content, starch and ash content. The genotypes/varieties showed considerable variability in respect varied for these parameters. The overall range of different physical and chemical parameters of grain yield 31.61-59.79q/ha; test weight 152.75-248.25g/1000 seeds, grain hardness 21.25-27.50 kg/seed, protein content 8.17-11.57 per cent, oil content 3.9-5.42 per cent, starch content 68.07-71.67 per cent and ash content 1.19-1.54 per cent.
