Abstract

The present study was planned to evaluate the integrated effect of marigold incorporation along with application of bio-formulations enriched neem cake for managing root knot nematode in cucumber. The preliminary pot house studies showed that application of Purpureocillium lilacinum + Trichoderma viride enriched neem cake gave better nematode control as compared to individual application of bio-formulation or neem cake. Based on the results of pot experiment, field trials were planned with application of bio-formulation enriched neem cake in integration with soil incorporation of 45 days old marigold or soil sterilization with Silver hydrogen peroxide before planting of the crop. Maximum reduction in nematode population in soil (49.75%) and roots of cucumber (44.50%) was recorded with soil incorporation of 45 days old marigold before planting + application of bio-formulation (P. lilacinum + T.viride + P. fluorescens) enriched neem cake (@1 ton/ha) + soil drenching with bio-agent enriched neem cake suspension once in 10 days. The plant growth parameters and crop yield was also significantly enhanced in this treatment.
