Life cycle of Neoseiulus longispinosus (EVANS) on Tetranychus urticae Koch

Abstract

Life cycle of N. longispinosus on T. urticae hosted on brinjal was conducted at 27 ± 2°C. The research findings showed that life cycle of N. longispinosus consisted of four stages viz., eggs, larva, nymph and adult. the egg period was found to be 2.24 days. Larval period and nymphal periods were observed to be 1.25 and 1.38 days, respectively. the pre-oviposition, oviposition and post oviposition period was 0.90, 5.80 and 1.02 days, respectively. the longevity of female and male was found to be 7.72 and 6.12 days, respectively. the fecundity was observed to be 13.10 eggs/female of N. longispinosus. the total development period of N. longispinosus on T. urticae hosted on brinjal was 12.59 days.
