Abstract

3, 4-Dihydropyrimidin-2-ones (DHPMs) were synthesized using magnesium ferrite nanoparticles (MFNPs) as catalyst. The TEM analysis of MFNPs revealed average particle diameter of 30 nm. The 1HNMR, 13CNMR, D2O, CHN, IR spectroscopy and Mass spectrometry were used to characterize the DHPMs. The DHPMs were screened for their antifungal activity against three test fungi of rice crop i.e. Alternaria alternata, Drechslera oryzae and Fusarium moniliforme. DHPMs showed excellent antifungal activity against test fungi.
