A Study on Extension Services Availed by Farm Families of Himachal Pradesh

Extension services are the important vehicle for rural development. In order to have a competitive edge in the changing environment, the extension agencies should be progressive, inspired and advanced. The present investigation was conducted in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. It revealed that inspite of number of trainings being organized by the different agencies, people are not getting the benefits as they should get. Hence, to increase the participation, effectiveness and output of the programmes extension workers should contact rural population on neutral and regular basis, use diversified methods of information dissemination, moreover the extension programmes should be conducted at convenient time to the target group.
