The present investigations were carried out to study the correlations and path coefficient studies between yield and quality traits at the experimental area of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana during 2008–09 and 2009–10. Positive association of yield components with desirable quality traits viz. titrable acidity, lycopene, dry matter and ascorbic acid has been observed. Considering the direct and indirect effect of various components characters, it was ascertained that number of fruits per plant, number of branches per plant, days taken to marketable maturity, total soluble solids, pericarp thickness are the characters to be emphasized in improving the yield.
