Abstract

Two hundred lines of barley germplasm (two-rowed and six-rowed), along with two check cultivars VJM 201 (two rowed) and PL 426 (six rowed) were evaluated for different morphological traits as well as for resistance to stripe rust and leaf blight during 2009–10 and 2010–11 crop seasons. Euclidean distances based on non-hierarchical cluster analysis were used to classify total accessions into different clusters. Accessions with good yield and performance for other ancillary traits were selected along with resistance to stripe rust and leaf blight diseases. The selected lines can be used in hybridization for barley improvement program.
