The great potential of some of the applications of nanotechnology in enhancing the quality of agricultural produce and food is reviewed in this paper. Nanotechnology is encompassing precision farming, crop improvement through nano-biotechnology, efficient exploitation of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides in plants, soil management, water management and post harvest technology. Moreover, the darker side of nanotechnology has also been touched upon, which is mainly due to its unforeseen risks.
