Studies were conducted to investigate the date of fruit maturity and quality attributes at the time of fruit harvesting of soft Asian pear varieties. YaLi, Nijisseiki and Hosui took 114–118 days, while Shinseiki and Kosui took 111–114 days to mature after full bloom. Physical characteristics like, fruit weight, length, diameter, juice and firmness were higher in YaLi. However, acidity content was more and TSS & TSS/acid ratio was low, but, the blend of sugar acid was better in YaLi, which contributed towards record higher palatability score in this variety. Overall, YaLi performed better as compared to other varieties.
