Abstract

In Chrysanthemum cv. Flirt, the application of 30 g N resulted in significantly more plant height (45.85 cm), number of branches per plant (8.00), weight of cut stem (2.99 g) and flower yield (104.25 flowers per plot) as compared to the control and N (10-, 20-and 40g per sq.m), irrespective of planting time and pinching. The cuttings planted in 1st week of July resulted in the maximum plant height (47.09 cm), number of branches per plant (6.10), cut stem weight (32.02g) and flower yield (89.16) as compared to the cuttings planted in llnd week of August. The non-pinched plants resulted in significantly more plant height (43.84 cm and, 37.67cm) in July as well as August planting, however, the number of branches were more in pinched plants (6.80 and, 6.39) as compared to the non-pinched plants.
