Water and fertilizer economy in potassium fertigated potatoes

Studies on K-Fertigation on potato crop using Muriate of Potash with three levels (100,75 and 50% of the recommended dose of MOP) revealed that about 50% fertilizer and 74% water can be saved over the conventional method of fertilizer and irrigation application while realizing comparable yield. Water use efficiency of 3.37 t ha⁻¹ cm¹ observed under trickle fertigation was nearly four times of that obtained with furrow method.
