Abstract

Phomopsis sojae, the incitant of stem blight of soybean was observed to cause seed infection upto 4.75 per cent. Besides, other seed mycoflora viz., Alternaria alternata, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, Curvularia lunata and Fusarium oxysporum were also found to be predominantly associated with such seed. The seed treatment with Captaf/Thiram @ 0.25% provided an effective control of P. sojae as well as other seed mycoflora and improved the seed germination and seedling vigour.
