Abstract

Trend yield analysis of seed cotton crop was studied for south-western district of Punjab viz., Ferozepur, Faridkot and Bathinda using district-wise yield data for seed cotton over years from 1982 to 1997. District-wise linear trend yield analysis showed a fluctuating trend in seed cotton yield over different years in the three districts. Multilinear trend yield models incorporating crop conditions term (C) explaning the pest incidence and rainfall as weather parameter showed improvement over linear model. (R= 0.77 to 0.86) over linear trend yield relations (R=0.40 to 0.72). It was concluded that technological trend yield model i.e. Y = a0 + a1 T + a2T2 showed improvement over linear model.
