The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of anthelmintic treatment on serum protein values in sheep infected with gastrointestinal parasites. Twelve animals infected with gastrointestinal nematodes were selected and divided into three groups based on the level of infection i.e. eggs per gram of faeces (epg). They were treated with doramactin (Dectomax)2 @ 200 mg/kg. BW s/c. Five animals were kept as infected untreated controls. Faecal samples and serum were collected on Day 0, 15 and 45 after treatment. Faecal samples were processed for epg, while proteins were analyzed from blood. Total serum proteins, serum albumin,serum globulin levels and A/G ratio showed improvement after treatment. Serum albumin, total serum protein values and A/G ratio remained depressed in infected untreated animals while hyperglobulinaemia was observed from Day 0 to Day 45. Anthelmintic efficacy of doramectin was 97.91 percent on day 15 and 78.74 percent on Day 45.
