Abstract

The study was conducted to evaluate the four varieties of triticale viz. TL 1210, TL 2780, TL 2849 and TL 2853 under three levels of fertilizer viz., 62.5:30:15, 125:60:30 and 187.5:90:45 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha. Significantly higher dry matter yield of 76 and 143 q/ha was obtained from variety TL 2849 during 1993–94 and 1994–95 respectively, and 108 q/ha from variety TL 2780 during 1995–96. Lowest dry matter yield was achieved from variety TL 1210. Dry matter and green matter yields were significantly increased with increasing fertilizer levels up to the highest level i.e. 187.5:90:45 N:P2O5:K2O kg/ha (150 per cent of recommended). This level gave 12.5 and 33.3 percent higher dry matter yield and 12.0 and 32.3 per cent higher green matter yield over 125:60:30 (100 per cent of recommended), 62.5:30:15 (50 per cent of recommended) levels, respectively.
