Histoenzymic Distribution of Succinic and Lactic Dehydrogenase in the Ovary of Indian Buffalo (Bubalus Bubalis) at Different Ages

The study was conducted on the ovaries of 46 (neonatal 13, prepubertal 3, cyclic 22, and pregnant 8) normal healthy Murrah female buffaloes. The fresh overian tissues were collected in the liquid nitrogen for the histoenzymic demonstration of enzymes. The unfixed frozen tissues were put to cryostat microtome at - 20°C to obtain sections at 10 mm on clean glass slides and incubated for SDH and LDH. The enzymes showed varied activity in the different components of the ovaries as well as in the Graafian follicles.
