The present study has been undertaken in Amritsar district with the specific objective, “To examine the extent of adoption of recommended practices for toria crop by farmers”. Total 120 farmers constituted the sample of the study. Majority of the respondents were having less than 3 acres are under toria crop, had low extension contact, did not operate tillage according to recommendations/were using local/desi variety. It is interesting to find that all the respondents (100%) did not get their soil tested for toria crop. The farmers showed less extent of adoption in practices viz. land preparation, improved varieties, soil testing, application of N and P fertilizer, dose and irrigation schedule.
