Abstract

Dissipation rate of atrazine at different levels (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 kg/ha) applied during different seasons, namely, summer season (May), rainy season (July) and winter season (Nov.) was studied. Atrazine at all levels of application tested peresisted for 80 days in summer and winter seasons. In rainy season atrazine at lower doses (0.5,1.0 kg/ha) persisted upto 60 days. It was non-detectable at 100 days after application in the summer and rainy seasons (at all rates upto 2.0 kg/ha) and in case of winter season only upto 1.0 kg/ha. Still about 15 per cent of atrazine was detectable at higher rates in winter conditions.
