Post-harvest treatments of plum cv. Kala Amritsari fruits with GA @ 10,25 and 50 ppm, Cycocel @ 500,1000 and 1500 ppm, CaCl2 2,4 and 6 percent and wax emulsion @ 3,6 and 9 percent followed by their storage at 0–3.3°C with 95–90 percent R.H. for 10,20,30 and 40 days revealed that CaCl2 @ 4 and 6 percent and GA @ 50 ppm were significantly superior in retaining the fruits in good condition for 40 days. Irrespective of the post harvest treatments given the palatability rating (PR), T.S.S. and total sugars increased upto 20 days, while fruit folour upto 30 days and later these declined progressively. Fruit firmness, physiological loss in weight (PLW), ascorbic acid, acidity and total phenols followed an inverse relationship with the increasing storage period.
