The Government of India and other organizations has conducted many development projects to help farmers for their progress and growth. Though there are multiple intervention programmes for development, the socio-economic growth of the farmers is stagnating. Hence the question arises whether the knowledge transfer is successful. Most of the programmes use communication tools such as cyber kiosks and telecentres, generally using modern technology. There is skepticism whether farmers really find it convenient accessing such modern information and communication technologies. The Review of Literature suggested location-specific study on the appropriate communication tool which is necessary for effective intervention that would pave the way for a sustainable development and also revealed that the bottom-up approach of technological development is needed for farmers ’development. Attitude schedule method was used to study 120 farmers. Respondents were selected through stratified random sampling technique. The study found that variables such as education, landholding and annual income had a significant relationship with preference of farmers towards ICT tools.
