Abstract

This commentary is about the challenges science journalism faces in a digital age. With the number of audience either shrinking or stagnating, it is still not clear whether a science journalistis a communicator or an investigator? Soon, science reporting will be in the mould of breaking news stories. The role of science journalists is changing from transmitter of scientific information to one who guides the reader through a complex maze of information, demystifying jargons and making news reader-friendly. They are increasingly reporting not only on the end-product of science but on the various aspects associated with the process itself.
