This paper is based on the study entitled “Role of Ramakrishna Mission for the sustainable livelihood development of tribal farmers in Narainpur block, Narainpur district of Chhattisgarh state. The study was conducted to find out the social profile of farmers, attitude of farmers towards extension service of RKM, sustainable livelihood strategy promoted by RKM and constraints encountered by both the Ashram and the farmers. This paper examines the information and communication services promoted among tribal farmers. It has been seen that there has been an increase in persons using communication channels in which radio ranked first due to easy availability at a minimum price in the local level market as well as due to the fact that it can be carried out anywhere easily. The percentage of newspaper also increased due to an increase in the literacy level in experimental group as compared to control group. It was seen that persons were always visiting RKM for seeking advice on inputs that is, 16.36% farmers sought information both from RA.E.Os. and input dealers; and 19.09% from RKM in case of experimental group.
