Education technology usage in a state agricultural university of Karnataka

The study was undertaken to know the level of competence possessed by the teachers for imparting quality education to the Post-Graduate students of Agricultural Sciences. The study was conducted at University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bangalore, Karnataka, with the sample size of 108 Senio. M.Sc. (Agriculture) students. The results revealed that in case of the extent of use of teaching methods/aids, majority of the Post-Graduate students were of the view that the use of teaching methods, teaching materials and teaching devices, by their teachers, was to the moderate extent. Majority of the Post-Graduate students indicated that large proportion of teachers in Agriculture faculty used lecture method ‘regularly’ in classroom teaching. In case of practicals, more than two-fifth of the students perceived that board display was ‘regularly’ used method. Similarly, chalk-board was ‘regularly’ employed material and LCD was the ‘regularly’ employed device in both theory and practical classes.
