Alternative schools have emerged over the years as one educational option for students who are not successful in traditional school settings. The number of these schools is growing rapidly, yet we know very little about the status and the types of schools available and the minimum basic facilities that are being provided for the students. This report provides the types of alternative centres, its location and the basic infrastructure available at the selected centres in the study area. Information is organised and collected with a well-structured interview schedule. The results showed that even though there are a number of schools, yet the availability of the basic infrastructure is not satisfactory.
