Abstract

A study was taken up to assess the impact of community radio programmes on rural households in terms of adoption. The community radio operational under Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Barh was purposively chosen for the study. The study revealed favourable performance of the participants in terms of pre-/posttest result as the scores of majority (57.7%) increased from 21–30 to 31–40 (71.1%). Also, the knowledge acquired by farmers from the programme increased significantly (tcomp= 23.34*) as perceived by the farmers. The problems encountered by the farmers in relation to mushroom production, vermicompost production and honeybee rearing were also outlined for finding necessary solutions both by the university and the state departments.
