This research paper evaluates the effectiveness of Cluster Frontline Demonstrations (CFLDs) in enhancing the yield and profitability of groundnut cultivation in Barwani district, Madhya Pradesh. Using an ex-post-facto research design, 120 farmers from six villages across two blocks were surveyed. Key parameters such as yield, profitability, technology gap, extension gap and technology index were measured. The CFLD plots recorded an average yield increase of (41.64%) over traditional farmer practices. On average, the extension gap across three years of the CFLD programme was 6.23 q/ha., technology gap was 5.8 q/ha and Technology Index was (21.48 %). Additionally, CFLD implementation significantly improved net returns (Rs. 51,270/ ha under CFLD compared to Rs. 44,034/ha in traditional practices) and the benefit-cost ratio improved from 2.36 (farmers practice) to 3.01 (CFLD). The study confirms that CFLDs are effective in promoting sustainable farming practices and can be scaled up for other crops and regions.
