Abstract

The study examines the psychometric properties of an instrument developed to measure job satisfaction among Library and Information Science (LIS) professionals working in ICT-enabled Central University libraries in Uttar Pradesh. The findings demonstrate that the five constructs— Working Environment, Monetary Benefits, Promotion Policy, Physical Environment and ICT Infrastructure, and Overall Satisfaction with Librarianship as a Career—exhibit high internal consistency, confirming the reliability of the measurement framework. Although a few items showed comparatively lower performance, they were retained due to their theoretical relevance. Overall, the instrument demonstrates strong psychometric validity and reliability, providing a robust framework for assessing job satisfaction in technology-driven academic libraries. It also offers a valuable tool for future research, institutional evaluation, evidence-based policy formulation, and human resource development in academic libraries.
