Abstract

The study was carried out on testis of 28 weeks old male guinea fowl. The samples fixed in Karnovsky’s fluid and then the tissue samples executed for processing for scanning electron microscopic studies. The study revealed that the testes were covered by an outer thin mesothelial layer, inner thick tunica albuginea capsule and parenchyma contained interstitial tissue and highly coiled seminiferous tubules. The seminiferous tubules were lined by germ cells namely, spermatogonia, primary spermatocytes, secondary spermatocyte, spermatid and fully developed spermatozoa in stratified manner from basement membrane towards lumen. The sertoli cells were located in between germ cells. The spermatozoa were extended its tails towards the center. There were no lobulations in the parenchyma.
