The increasing awareness about AMR among stakeholders leads to ever increasing demand for search of antibiotic replacement in poultry feed like probiotics, essential oils, phytobiotics, antipeptide, bacteriophage etc. The innovative postbiotics have added advantage over the traditional probiotics and can be a potential antibiotic replacement in poultry feed. With this context we have carried out in vitro study to evaluate characteristic property of the postbiotic metabolites harvested from GRAS probiotic Lactobacillus sps. i.e, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum. After production of metabolites the metabolites were subjected to probiotic assay protocol test. Results exhibited significantly (P<0.01) reduced pH, increased osmolarity (P<0.05) and higher calcium, sodium and chloride concentration (P<0.01) than the un-inoculated media. Further, the postbiotics showed improved antioxidant (P<0.01), anti-inflammatory activity (P<0.01) and clear zone of inhibition against E. Coli and Salmonella. The in vitro characteristics assessment of postbiotics derived from Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum in current study passes all probiotic assay test protocols. These metabolites have ideal pH, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant as well as antibacterial activity which are very essential for overall growth of birds. This verifies the fact that metabolites have potential to be used as feed supplement or as antibiotic replacement in poultry.
