Abstract

The present study was undertaken to determine the effects of combined toxicity of cadmium chloride and pendimethalin on hematological changes in broilers. Hematological parameters such as packed cell volume (PCV), haemoglobin concentration (Hb), total erythrocyte count (TEC), total leucocyte count (TLC) and differential leucocyte count (DLC) were evaluated on the 21st and 42nd day of study. There was a marked reduction in TLC which increased with the duration of toxicity along with lymphopenia. However, blood picture revealed an increase in heterophil count by 6th week of toxicity with aggregation and degranulation of heterophils.
