A study was conducted in Vencobb 400 commercial broilers with two dietary levels of crude protein formulated as standard CP diet (SCP) or low CP diet (LCP) maintaining appropriate amino acid profile in three feeding trials each of six weeks duration. It was observed that reduction of crude protein up to 0.5 per cent with constant amino acid to ME ratio did not adversely affect the live performance or carcass yield of commercial broilers. The average feed cost saving was approximately Rs.336/-per Ton of feed.
Broiler performance, economic benefits, reduced dietary protein, reduced feed cost
