An experiment was conducted with one hundred and twenty number of day-old Hubbard broiler chicks of uniform body weight to study the effect of zinc supplementation on serum concentration of protein, glucose and cholesterol. Broiler chicks were equally divided into four groups viz. T1, T2, T3 and T4 groups with 3 replicates in each and their feed was supplemented with 40, 60, 80 and 100 ppm of zinc in the form of zinc oxide, respectively. The study period was 6 weeks, out of which standard starter diet was supplied upto 4 weeks followed by fInisher diet till the end of experiment. Blood samples were collected from chicks at the end of the experiment. Serum was separated and stored at −20°C until assayed. The present study revealed non-signifIcant effect of various levels of dietary zinc supplement on serum concentration of protein while the serum concentration of glucose and cholesterol showed significant (P<0.01) variation.
