Abstract

An experiment was conducted to evaluate the production traits in reciprocal crosses of two White Leghorn strains under deep litter system. The data revealed that the age at first egg and 50% egg production were early in N × P strain cross. The overall mean hen housed per cent (HHP) from 21 to 40 weeks of age were 86.66±3.l9 and 85.06 ±3.04 per cent in N × P and P × N strain crosses, respectively. The hen housed number (HHN) for N × P strain cross was 121.32 and it was 118.82 in P × N strain cross. The differences for HHP and HHN were not significant between the genetic crosses.
