To assess the beneficial effects of sodium bicarbonate supplementation (@ 0.2 and 0.5%) in diet, a trial was conducted on commercial broiler during summer. Better feed efficiency, net economic profits and low mortality were the practical benefits obtained supplementary by 0.5% sodium bicarbonate in the diet. It is encouraging to propose this as a package to be used by the farmer during summer rearing to combat losses incurred.
